Last day of 2006. I woke up this morning filled with all kinds of ideas about how I would spend the last day of this year. I thought I'd clean my office and then I'd finish writing thank you notes from my wedding and then I'd write in my journal and then I'd pay some bills and then I'd...I haven't done any of those things and I'm really happy about that. Here's the reason why...
Deep down inside what I wanted to do more than anything else was go for a run with my new iPod, find a sunny spot in the park, turn my face toward its warmth and let the music lead me and my body to a place of reflection and gratitude. I wanted to dance like no one was watching. I didn't want to make this day a day about getting things done. I wanted to make this day about celebrating all that I am and all that I have. I wanted to make this day about just being as opposed to doing.
One of my favorite musical artists right now is DJ Tiesto and there's a song (and I just discovered a killer video) that not only speaks to how I wanted to experience this day, but represents a part of the message this blog and my book will convey. Check out Just Be and let me know what you think. What resonates with you? The music, the lyrics, the dancing on the beach? How will you be today on the last day of the year? May your New Year celebrations BE fun, festive and safe. See you in 2007!
It was a tremendous dance in the park in the sun with my iPod.

A couple of friends have emailed me this video because of the name; justBe...
That is the name of my business and name of the gathering I am hosting for creative bloggers. You can check it out here...

Your post about Oprah resonated with me. I love Oprah too. I have written to her many times about blogging and connecting.
I too would want to be on her show for reasons of spreading joy.
I wish you well on all your creative endevors!
